Title: Robin’s Hood
Director: Nir Ne’eman
Specs: Israel 2003 video 48min subtitled
Vibrant, exciting and accompanied by a blistering soundtrack, Send Me an Angel chases hot, directionless video-store clerk Ronny. The advent of his 30th birthday has sparked feelings of insecurity, isolation and loneliness – feelings not helped by news that his current love interest Eran is off to New York with another man.
Rejecting a gesture of love – the cake his mother sent him – Ronny seeks human contact with rent boy Sahar, but realises that what he really wants is the tenderness of a kiss and some real affection.
Ronny escapes the claustrophobia of his apartment and ventures out into the pumping, but unsatisfactory nightlife of Tel Aviv. By chance, he meets up with Sahar and new, more gratifying possibilities abound.
