LOS ANGELES — It looks like it’s shaping up to be another disappointing week for Britney Spears.
First, the pop star was told that her latest album, Blackout, was kept from the top spot on the Billboard charts due to a last-minute rule change that allowed the Eagles’ latest disc to beat her to the top (their Long Road Out of Eden album is available only through Wal-Mart and the band’s website, neither of which are usually counted for charting purposes).
Second, Spears was told, by Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott M. Gordon, to pay most of the legal fees her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, owes to attorneys following their recent custody battle (Federline was awarded temporary custody of their two young sons).
According to court papers obtained by Access Hollywood, although Federline asked that Spears pay $160,000 in fees, the judge settled on the slightly more palatable $120,000.
Although Federline admitted in his Income & Expense filing with the court that he has assets of $726,000, he also indicated that he doesn’t earn any income due to the fact that he is “self-employed as a performing artist.”
Spears, on the other hand makes roughly $737,000 per month, though $35,000 of that is paid to Federline for child and spousal support, according to a report from the Associated Press. – Gay Link Content
