FBI star enraged over claims that Hoover was gay
November 13, 2003
"To think that this man, who was so security conscious, would flaunt it all and put a dress on and go dancing around where people could see him is outrageous. It just doesn't make sense. Whether he was a homosexual or not is another matter. I personally don't believe he was. I think he was asexual, but he was manly in every sense that I saw."
- Efrem Zimbalist Jr., telling AP Radio he's still "enraged" over claims that J. Edgar Hoover was gay and enjoyed wearing women's clothes. Zimbalist donated to the Hollywood History Museum some FBI memorabilia Hoover gave him when he starred in The FBI TV series.
