NEWS Miss Gay Umbrella 2008 March 31, 2008 MAFIKENG — Almost one year ago Gay Umbrella came into existence and this was celebrated with a gala launch which featured the first annual Miss Gay Umbrella contest. It is now a year later and to celebrate its first birthday, Gay Umbrella is hosting the 2008 Miss Gay Umbrella contest. It will be held at the Mmabana Cultural Centre Theatre in Mafikeng on Saturday 3 May. The event starts at 18h00 and tickets are R 30.00 Categories include Miss Gay, Mr Gay and Mr Lesbian. A member of the audience will be crowen Best Dressed. Several guest performers will also be on stage. There is still time for contestants to register for this prestigious event. The winners will automatically qualify for the Mr & Miss Gay South Africa International event that will be held at the end of May in Pretoria.
