PINK CANDY GLAMOROUS
The Pink Candy Glam Ball on Friday 16th February is your chance to glam it up in Rio-style in carnival dress, be royally entertained, and honour the members of the gay community who have made a difference in the last year in our annual Awards Evening. Tickets for this Pink Tie Affair are R195 and the price includes dinner. The venue is the Hellenic Club on Bay Rd, Mouille Point, and the event starts at 7.30pm for 8.00pm. “CARNIVAL OF LOVE” STREET PARTY
This year’s Pride Street Party on Saturday 17th February promises to be the best ever in terms of the line up of entertainment. We are very excited to confirm Cape Town’s top electronica band Goldfish, who will be supported by Coda, the latest sensation in the city’s live performance scene. This is a major scoop for Cape Town Pride. There will also be live appearances by 12th Avenue, Autopilot, The Grime Council and Lu Chase. We have an exciting erotic fashion show and performances from some of Cape Town’s most popular drag artistes. Apart from the action on stage, there will be a street market, a shaded side walk café and wine bar, and hundreds of fabulous people to cruise. The Street Party happens as soon as the Street Parade comes to an end in De Waterkant. Parts of Napier and Jarvis Streets will be cordoned off and there will be a R20 entry fee.
THE RED PARTY
With Valentine’s Day just gone by, put on something red and dance the night away at Cruz, after the Pride Street Party on Saturday 17th February, at 10pm.
PRIDE e’LOCTION DAY OF LOVE
Cape Town Pride aims to unite the Cultures of Cape Town with an expression of Gay Pride in Guguletu. This will take the form of a road show, a street parade including a brass band and gumboot dancers, culminating in a party in a community hall on Sunday 18th February at noon.
HAVE AN AFFAIR
The Pride Book Affair happens on Sunday 18th February at the Victoria Junction Hotel at 2.30pm. This is a showcase for gay literati and will include book signings. The fair will be opened by judge and author Edwin Cameron.
