The Experiment creates a potentially explosive situation by putting 5 gay and 5 straight people, from different racial and social groups with diametrically opposite beliefs and attitudes, in a house for a week to battle it out.
This is reality with a purpose and it makes compelling viewing. It confronts the deep-seated stereo-types and misconceptions that fuel the hatred, violence, and religion-sanctioned bigotry the gay community lives with in the US. The house confronts the brutal reality of AIDS, family rejection, and gay love with the same passion. As the occupants emotionally slug it out, understanding dawns and deep-connections are forged. The tension is tangible, and the results are up-lifting.
