NEWS Pink Loerie Mardi Gras 2010 – I am... 9 March, 2010 Chris McGregor, Mr Mardis Gras 2009 KNYSNA — The annual Pink Loerie Mardi Gras will transform the town again from 27 April to 2 May 2010. The first Mardi Gras that was held in May 2001 was a great success and since then it has grown every year to be more popular with huge support from the gay and lesbian community. Originated by Knysna local, Juan Lerm, it is Africa's biggest, boldest and most colourful Gay carnival. The Mardi Gras is a celebration of freedom and the diversity of the gay culture and offers six days of non stop entertainment for anyone, no matter their sexual orientation, who enjoys a party. Mr. Mardi Gras 2010, Mr. Underwear SA 2010 & The Wet White Jocks Competition Friday, 30 April @ Zanzibar, 9 PM sharp. What is more beautiful, more attractive, sexy and sensual than a fabulous male body in crisp white jocks? Nothing! And if you do not believe me – this is your chance to come see for yourself! Mind out of the gutter, madam – come see the exquisite designer underwear for next summer plus the new Platinum Collection by Top SA designer Wilco Stemmet of Bone Wear in Pretoria – sponsors of Mr. South Africa, Mr. Gay South Africa™ and even Mr. Gay World in Oslo, Norway. This collection will be shown by the entrants of the Mr. Mardi Gras SA 2010 competition (see entry details below). This will also be the Eastern Cape regional finals of the prestigious Mr. Gay South Africa™ 2010 competition and fabulous prizes are up for grabs – R5000 cash for the winner, R3000 for 1st runner-up and R2000 for 2nd runner-up (sponsored by Zanzibar Club and Lounge) and much more! The first two will automatically qualify for Mr. Gay South Africa 2010. Any gay man aged between 18 and 40 from anywhere in SA may enter. And the good news – all underwear will be for sale! The gorgeous, Mr. Gay World 2010, Charl van den Berg, plus a few of the fabulous finalists will be joining us! A great time to purchase your Bone Wear collection! Yes! Once again we are looking for that exquisite body in exquisite underwear to "crown" as Mr. Underwear SA 2010. This part of the competition will be hot, steamy and extremely sexy and if our winner of 2009, the super sexy Chris Macgregor of Cape Town, currently also Bone Wear Model of the Year and The Look of Gaultier (Jean-Paul Gaultier) in South Africa, is anything to go by – it will be a sensational contest. Chris will be the guest of honour at the function! We will be inviting all the different underwear manufacturers/designers in SA to enter their underwear model(s) as well as any man from around SA for this competition. The first prize will be a year's supply of underwear and swimwear from Bone Wear and more. This will be judged by a panel of press and media people. And to hot things up even more – a wet white jocks competition – no not wet white T-shirt! Wet white jocks! We have invited the hunks from Liberate Studios to join us as they will be celebrating their first birthday during the Loerie and we wish to celebrate with them – we want to celebrate the male body and the male sexuality and what better way to do it – now you tell me this will not be the hottest thing ever at the Loerie.
