JOHANNESBURG — The freedom of choice is one that we should definitely be celebrating this Pride – the choice to be straight or gay, or to dress in drag or wear as little as possible (without exposing the little bits obviously).
In the spirit of being free to choose, you now have yet another venue to party your Pride evening away. Funked Up is the place, and promises to be a venue too hot for the baby fish to handle. (Rumors have it that Motorola have even got involved, as the image of this club is MotoChic and HomoMoto).
Based in Midrand (in the Fair Value center on Old Pretoria Road), Funcked Up sports a fantastic layout and great sound system. Think back to the days of Therapy in the heartland, and you will have a faint idea.
Organizers have promised that the music will make you shake your ass, swing your handbag, so best you make sure you have your dancing shoes on.
This Pride night they will be launching the Mirrorball Nights CD (some great tracks on this one). Free copies of the CD will be distributed on arrival to those dressed to party! The cost is a mere R100, but that includes a glass of bubbly too!
For those MotoSnobs around, a VIP area has been arranged, where you will be able to partake in a cup of tea away from the maddening crowd.
All in all, this is an up market, stylish, sexy venue with three of the hottest DJ's in town playing on Pride night; Warren Louder, Delon Palm, and Lalicia!
The music is sexy, the club is stylish, and the boys are hot! Hence it will be a prerequisite for me to be there, what about you?
