CAPE TOWN — Well, its Pride time again and this year, we have a huge amount of activities for you all. From new events like the Hot Sudz Car Wash team (grrr!) to Putt-Putt, Moon Hike up the head and a whole lot more. We are very proud to announce Good Hope FM as the PROUD media partner to Pride 2008 and The Pink Tongue which really is a great Cape Town publication.
Listen out for our Radio promo adverts on Ryan and Natalie's shows between 3 and 9pm on 94-97 FM or listen on your PC at www.goodhopefm.co.za. We also celebrate our Official beneficiary The Pride Shelter Trust's milestone of ZAR 1 million in funds raised so far – all because of you! Every Pride event YOU attend contributes towards this excellant cause. visit them on www.pridesheltertrust.co.za.
The theme this year is Pride Heroes - Everyone's a Hero! This theme is to celebrate all the heroes in our community to have helped pave the way in the LGBTI community AND it is to celebrate the HERO in YOU! We are all heroes in our own way, for what we have done to get this far – and for standing up for ourselves. Pride salutes each and everyone of you.
Get ready for this weekend's first event – the Pride Pageant as well as The Pride Red Party (You gotta wear red!) – from the people who brought you MASK. Pride raised a good deal of money from NY's MASK – so thanks one and all! Get down to your fave shop and pick up a new red outfit! Remember – tickets went fast last year, so call Evan on 021 425 6461 or pop into the Pride office.
Finally, please visit or visit www.capetownpride.co.za – we launched our new website on Monday, it's full of great info and remember the Heroes Parade on 1st March followed by the Pride Carnival at Prestwich Primary (Across from Rockwell, down the road from The Loft) R30 gets you in and over 15 performers and bands, trees to sit under, drinks to sip and eats to nibble! See the hip n hot Coda, Carlo (Idols) Martelize (Idols), Odidiva, Mlamli, Trucker, Andre Smit, Glaskas and One Day Remains to name but a few. Thanks to David Gresham Records for some of the artists performing.
